Uesugi Kenshin Functional Full Tang Katana Sword. The  Hand Made Sword is full-tang and can be fully disassembled. The sword is made with high temper carbon steel that can cut steel wire without chipping. The blade was created by combining two pieces of steel with different hardiness into one solid piece (iron wrap process) and differentially tempering it until desired hardiness has been achieved.

This sword measures 40 inches overall with the scabbard on and 38 1/2 inches without. Sword is made with all steel fittings. The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a black flat finish and engraving on it.. The blade is made out of carbon steel measuring 28 1/2  inches in length. The blade is full tang that is held inside the handle with a wooden peg. This functional sword has a thick 1/4 inch blade that tapers to the tip at 3/16 inches. This sword deceive as this sword is razor sharp and fully functional. Comes with the Free Stand and the Sword Bag.
 

HISTORY

Uesugi Kenshin (1530-1578)

Born in 1530 in a Uesugi?s sub branch, Nagao family, who was charged to administer Niigata region (Shugo dai). Though Uesugi had a responsibility over the whole Kanto region (Kanto kanrei), they had been weakened by Hojo family. So Shingen succeeded his overlord, to restore his fued by fighting against Hojo and his allied, Takeda Shingen. Kenshin and Shingen crashed 5 times at Kawanakajima in northern Ngano but the battles had been never conclusive. He died in 1578 due to an cerebral paralysis?
